The ERGO Group (Düsseldorf) acquired four additional works by Tom Fecht for its corporate art collection, curated in 2025 by Tine Bay Lührssen (Düsseldorf). The new works were recently installed in the cafeteria of the Berlin headquarters of DKV, a national health insurance provider belonging to the ERGO Group.
The new installation comprises four backlit photographs measuring 285 x 500 cm printed by thermo-sublimation on photo-silk. All of them are interchangeable and individually mounted transforming the cafeteria’s atmosphere in correspondence with the four seasons of the year. The commission also included technical updates to Fecht’s earlier Fotocurit installations from 1999. Today, ERGO own seven large-format photo installations by Tom Fecht in its permanent collection, including BASICS (1999) and NOAH’s ARC (2001), a curved and backlit photo-glass installation featuring a photographic patent of the artist. Based on a star map of the sky as seen from Cologne at 50 degrees north latitude, the artwork arches high above visitors’ heads and across a span of 15 meters on the top floor of the ERGO headquarters in Cologne.
